Ø      Firstly, we believe it is essential that the government define exactly what cyber bullying is as many are unaware of this.  Ø      A proof of identification should be issued from sites such as Facebook etc to ensure that the accounts are authentic.  Ø      There should be an age restriction imposed to ensure that people of a young age are not exposed to the dangers of cyber bulling and the Internet in general.  Ø      Also we believe it is crucial that strict laws are drawn up to prevent these callous acts of bullying and that they may be imposed quite strictly.  Ø      There should be an introduction page issued on these social networking sites that clearly states the possibilities of cyber bullying and how to prevent them.  Ø      From our perspective, anyone under the age of 16 should have to get parental consent in order to sign up to a social networking site.  Ø      In our opinion, Cyber Bullying is an ongoing problem that often has devastating effects. In some extreme cases such as that of Phoebe Prince it is often too late to resolve the problem. It would not be impossible to take a look at the obvious issues that are frequently occurring and try to prevent them.. !

 Some very practical

Some very practical solutions from this group on Cyberbullying. I think more parents need to be aware of this prospect and i certainly agree that anyone under the age of 16 should have parental consent in order to access social networking sites. This would allow parents to know exactly what their young ones are logging on to. I certainly believe that a warning needs to be clearly stated on an introduction page re the possibilites of cyber bullying. I also think that parents or carers should be given e-mail or text alerts periodically if the under 16's are spending an excessive amount of time on the net, esp if this time is late at night.. Lack of monitoring and control on these sites can have very serious consequences.
